At the previous Intel Architecture Day event, although Intel introduced Alder Lake's architecture and expansion capabilities in detail, it did not clearly disclose the specific products, and the supporting 600 series motherboard chipset did not have much information, just said that it provides The number of PCI-E channels is now finally released for the Intel Z690 platform.

1.jpgThe following Intel Z690 specifications are released by PC Inquisitor. Let’s take a look at the 12th-generation Core processor above. It supports both DDR5 and DDR4 memory. The frequency of the former is 4800MHz, and the latter is 3200MHz, providing 16 PCI-E 5.0 channels and 4 PCI-E 4.0 channels, these 16 PCI-E 5.0 can be made into one PCI-E 5.0 x16 or two PCI-E 5.0 x8, and the core display can support up to 3 video outputs .

The CPU and the Z690 chip are connected by DMI 4.0 x8, and the bandwidth is directly doubled than the current DMI 3.0 x8 on the 11th generation platform, which can be regarded as a speed similar to PCI-E 4.0 x8. The Z690 chip itself can provide 12 PCI-E 4.0 and 16 PCI-E 3.0, which is higher than the current Z590's 24 PCI-E 3.0 regardless of the number and speed. The SATA port is still 6 SATA 6Gbps, still integrated Intel Gigabit Ethernet MAC, but the optional upgrade from 2.5GbE network card to 5GbE, wireless network card is also upgraded from AX210 to WiFi 6E AX211.

In terms of USB interface, Z690 provides up to 16 USB ports, of which up to 10 USB 3.2 Gen 1 or Gen 2 ports, and up to 4 USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 ports. Compared with Z590, the total number of USB ports is two more, USB 3.2 The number of Gen 2x2 ports is one more.

Not surprisingly, Intel will release the Alder Lake processor and the Z690 motherboard at the end of October event. Of course, the release date should be mid-November.
